Recent contact with a descendant of this family confirms parentage of William Nuckolls and Maria Williams. I will need to review the 1830 and 1840 census records for children ages. CORD -- Nita Walden Huskey, 79, of Cord died Saturday, Oct. 16, at Cord. A native of Cord, she was a homemaker and worked at Walden's Grocery at Cord for many years, and at Prince Cut Barber Shop at Batesville. She was a member of Cord Baptist Church. Survivors include one daughter, Sarah Prince of Cord; two sisters, Fayna Spragg of Cord and Pauline Glenn of Walnut Ridge; four grandchildren, Kristi Moody and T.J. Walden, both of Batesville, Chad Walden of Nashville, Tenn., and Robert Hunter of Tallahassee, Fla.; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas J. Walden; one son, Terry Walden; her parents, Neil Oscar and Eva Stella Nuckolls Northcutt; one brother; one sister; and one granddaughter. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Cord Baptist Church, with Gary Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow in Hopewell Cemetery at Cord under the direction of Qualls Batesville Funeral Home. Active pallbearers will be Glen Kennedy, Marvin Kennedy, Floyd Northcutt Jr., Raoul Spragg, Steve Craft, Nathan Craft and Ken Craft. Dr. Lackey Moody will serve as an honorary pallbearer. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

On the 28th d ay of March 1901, there was born to I. C. and Sarah Nuckolls a beautiful l ittle girl. The named her Maudie Laneer. She was a lovely child, b ut on the 11th day of February 1913, He who give her called her home. " It was not in cruelty, It was not in wrath, The Reaper came that da y, But an Angel visited the earth And took this flower away." Litte Ma ud while only in her 12th year had many relatives and friends who follow ed her in sorrow to her litte grave in Hopewell cemetery, where we left h er to rest in peace until the resurrection morn.
