GOOCHLAND COUNTY DEED and WILL BOOK 28 P 255
Deed from Edward T. Nuckols, his wife Susan N. Nuckols to Joseph Nuckols
This indenture made this 21 day of December in the year of our Lord 1829, between Edward T. Nuckols and Susan N. Nuckols his wife of the County of Goochland of the first part & Joseph Nuckols of the county of the second part. Witnesseth, that where as William Nuckols decd. Grandson of the said Susan N. Nuckols hath by deed bearing date in the month of January 1820 for the sum of two hundred dollars sold and conveyed to the said Joseph Nuckols all the right, title and interest which the said Susan N. Nuckols had in a certain undivided track, piece or parcel of land belonging to Pouncy Nuckols decd. lying and being in the said County of Goochland. Now therefore it is this true intent and meaning of this Indenture that the said Edward T. Nuckols & Susan N. Nuckols his wife for and in consideration of the premises herein before mentioned as well as for the further consideration of the sum of one dollar to them the said Edward T. Nuckols & Susan N. Nuckols his wife in hand paid by the said Joseph Nuckols the receipt where of they do hereby acknowledge by these presents for themselves, their heirs and ratify and confirm to all intents and purposes to the said Joseph Nuckols his heirs, executors, administrators and assigns this said conveyance made as aforesaid by the said Williams Nuckols decd. and the said Edward T. Nuckols & Susan N. Nuckols his wife do hereby covenant and agree to and with the said Joseph Nuckols his heirs, executors, administrators and assigns that all the right, title and interest of them the said Edward T. Nuckols & Susan N. Nuckols his wife to the aforesaid land against them the said Edward T. Nuckols & Susan N. Nuckols his wife, their heirs, executors, administrators and against all and every other person and persons to him the said Joseph Nuckols his heirs, executors, administrators and assigns shall and will by their present warrant and forever defend.
In testimony of which the said Edward T. Nuckols & Susan N. Nuckols his wife have hereunto set their hands and affixed their seals the day and year first herein written.

Goochland County to wit:
We Thomas Taurman & William Ford Justices of the Peace in the aforesaid County in the state of Virginia do hereby certify that Edward T. Nuckols & Susan N. Nuckols his wife parties to the written deed bearing date on the 21st day of December 1829 personally appeared before us in our County aforesaid and acknowledged the same to be their act and deed, and desired us to certify the said acknowledgment to the Clerk of the County Court of Goochland, in order that the same may be recorded.

We Tho.s Taurman & Wm Ford Justices of the Peace of in the aforesaid County in the state of Virginia, do hereby certify that Susan N. Nuckols the wife of Edward T. Nuckols, a party to the written deed bearing date on 21st December 1829 personally appeared before us in our court aforesaid and being examined by us purely and apart from her husband and having the deed aforesaid fully explained to her she the said Susan N. Nuckols acknowledged the same to be her act and deed and declared that she had willingly signed sealed and delivered the same and that she wished not to retract it.

Deed from Edward T. Nuckols and Susanah N. Nuckols to William A. Deitrick
This Indenture made the 2nd day of October in the year of our Lord One thousand Eighteen hundred and thirty two, Between Edward T. Nuckols and Susanah his wife of the County of Hanover of the one part , and William A. Deitrick of the County of Goochland of the other part Witnesseth, that the said Edward T. Nuckols and Susanah his wife in consideration of the sum of six hundred and seventy dollars to them in hand paid by William A. Deitrick at or before
the ensealing and delivery of these presents, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, have bargained and sold, and by these presents do and each of them bargain and sell unto the said Wm A. Deitrick his heirs and assigns, all their right title and interest both real and personal and what may be due and owing them either by will or otherwise in the said Ed. T. Nuckols?s father in-law William Nuckols? Estate, he being the father of said Susanah Nuckols now the wife of the said Edward T. Nuckols. All their right title and interest either by will or otherwise both real and personal whatever may be due and owing them from the estate of William Nuckols by will or otherwise, lying in the County of Goochland and Hanover and state of Virginia, to have and to hold the said interest unto the said Willliam A. Deitrick his heirs and assigns forever.
And the said Edward T. Nuckols and Susanah his wife for themselves their heirs, the said right title and interest in the Estate of William Nuckols either by will or otherwise, and all that may be due and owing them from the Estate of William Nuckols either in land or Equity, unto the said William A.Deitrick his heirs and assigns free from the claim or claims of them the said E. T. Nuckols and Susanah his wife or either of them, and their heirs, and of all and every person or persons whatsoever, shall will and do warrant and forever defend by these presents. In witness witness whereof said E. T. Nuckols and Susanah his wife have hereto set their hand and seals the day and year first above written.

Nuckols his wife, parties to the written deed bearing date on the 2nd day of October 1832, personally appeared before us in our County aforesaid, and acknowledged the same to be their act and deed and directed us to certify the said acknowledgment to the Clerks of the County Courts of Goochland and Hanover in order that the deed may be recorded. Given under our hand and seal this 2nd day of October 1832 .
